How to Care for Cubic Zirconia

Cubic Zirconia is an attractive alternative to everyone who enjoys wholesale fashion rings and other jewelry dressed up with diamonds or other precious stones. Aside from having a considerably lower price point, cubic zirconia is artificially produced, which guarantees consistent quality and brilliance across various types.

Since cubic zirconia is super versatile, more and more jewelry styles feature these accents. From rings with huge rocks to stud earrings, drops, and hoops, the possibilities are endless. If you’re ready to take the plunge, here are some tips to make sure that your cubic zirconia stays shiny, shimmery, and splendid:

Caring for the jewels

In any cubic zirconia piece, the most important element would, of course, be the rock. This is the highlight and hence should be given ample attention. As with most jewels, cubic zirconia may lose its brilliance over time due to exposure to dirt and the elements. It is also important to note that CZ is not as hard as diamonds or other naturally occurring gemstones, so cleaning with a soft cloth or brush is highly recommended. Use gentle, circular scrubbing strokes to avoid visible scratches. Be mindful also of the possibility of soap and scum buildup that comes with daily wear.

Caring for the hardware

For most pieces like rings and earrings, the CZ stones are set in a variety of materials like platinum, gold, or sterling silver. To maintain your jewelry’s brilliance, make sure that the metal it’s set in is also well taken care of. Mild soap may be used in cleaning both the rock and the hardware, just make sure that it is thoroughly rinsed and dried after. When not in use, store your cubic zirconia jewelry in a cool, dry place to avoid tarnishing due to moisture.

With proper cleaning, care, and storage, cubic zirconia, just like diamonds, can also last forever.
