You are invited to a virtual Black Tie event, and your presence is most expected, which means you have no choice but to attend and wear a tuxedo. At home. You have never worn one in years and have no idea how to style it.

Don't worry, we can help. Besides selling wholesale fashion rings other pieces, CeriJewelry has got your back when it comes to fashion styling. So without further ado, here's a quick guide on how to style tuxedos for formal virtual events:

Go classic and stick with tradition.

The first rule to wearing tuxedos is to stick with tradition. Choose a notch lapel, single-breasted jacket, and your pants should have a single silk strip down the side. Yes, please wear pants to be safe! As for the fit, the tuxedo should be a perfect fit on the shoulders, and the jacket must fall nicely against your torso without getting folded or wrinkled.

Wear a subdued shirt.

Tuxedo shirts come in two types — the traditional point collar and the wing collar, and both are considered classic styles. The same is the case for plain and pleated fronts. Make sure that your shirt has French cuffs styled with the cufflinks of your choice.

Wear the right tie.

Avoid wearing a silk bow tie with a clip-on or is a straight tie. Instead, settle for one that you tie yourself. Any color is good, but black silk is the best and safest choice. Stay away from novelty bow ties as they are too casual for Black Tie events.

Avoid going overboard with accessories.

Wear accessories and jewelry sparingly. Go with one ring; a wedding band if married, a fashion ring for the single. Wear a classic wristwatch, preferably one with a black leather strap and, of course, cuff-links.

Don’t forget to wear shoes.

Even if there is little chance other attendees of the virtual event will see your shoes, it's still best if you wear them. Highly-polished Oxfords are the best choice. Go with a plain design and round-toed. Avoid wearing a pair with tassels and fancy stitching. If Oxfords are not available, you can go with patent leather shoes. As for the socks, black ones with mid-calf length will do.
